While nursery has its challenges, it is the most important ministry within your church. As children's leaders, it is easy to neglect the nursery ministry, because the children are infants and tend to have a very short attention span. However, these early years of our children's lives are the most formative years, where we can be building a strong foundation of faith. Here are a few tips on how to create a nursery environment that will build a foundation of faith for a lifetime.

My favorite element of Tru Fire is that it sets kids up with the tools they need to take hold of their faith. Lots of curricula are more interested in raising up good kids, but Tru Fire looks to train a generation of godly kids. Tru Fire helps kids interact with God’s Word, and it teaches kids to go to God with their burdens and to work things out in prayer.

Jesus said, “I will build my church” … “you go and make disciples.” Sometimes we have replied, “God, we’ve got a better idea. We will build Your church, putting on programs and events for people to attend. Then somehow, by them attending the events we run, You can turn them into disciples.”

Church should be fun. Watching kids laugh and smile throughout their entire ministry experience means good things are happening. In some instances, church may be the only place where kids actually have an environment that is tailored just for them and allows them to have fun.

Selecting the perfect curriculum for children’s ministry is like trying to find a unicorn—unfortunately, it doesn’t exist. In lieu of a perfect curriculum, how do we select and use imperfect curriculum to help us disciple children in God’s word?
