When it comes to Harvest Festivals, here are a few questions to ask that can help your children's ministry stand out:

Fall is coming and I’m already getting excited! From the turning leaves, the return of football, crisp air, homemade applesauce, and pumpkin spice ev-ry-thing… It’s my absolute favorite time of year. At Morningside Assembly we invite the community for a party on our church campus. It’s scheduled the Wednesday before Halloween, and we call it “Big Orange Party” (aka B.O.P.)

For many kids’ ministry leaders, this weekend is one that’s filled with candy and absolute craziness. If you’re church is hosting a Harvest Festival this weekend, you’re just a few hours away from getting the opportunity to connect with dozens of unchurched families in your community.

Questions are powerful. Questions are an essential part of planning. Questions, when answered, help to provide clarity. Questions help you avoid doing something just so you have something to do. When first planning an event, start with the right questions.

This week, tens of thousands unchurched families will bring their kids to annual Harvest Festivals or fall outreach events. If you stop and think about it… that’s an incredible opportunity to make a significant and eternal impact for the Kingdom.

Camp. VBS. Kids’ Crusades. Easter Outreaches. All of these activities have a common factor—the preparation for them is enormous! But what about follow-up?
