God has perfected praise in the hearts of children. A child will just as naturally shout, “Praise God,” as he will, “Look there’s a butterfly.” So what is it that deters children from worshiping God in our children’s churches? Let's examine four factors contributing to the struggle to get kids to worship: parenting models, volunteer involvement, worldly distractions, and lack of planning.
I love the times when I can see on the faces of kids when they are having their own personal encounter with the Spirit of God. If we as Kidmin leaders fail to jealously pursue these sacred moments, we will easily move forward with simpler things each week and miss opportunities that can leave an indelible mark for a lifetime.
It’s so easy for our kidmin worship times to become all about the singing and the dancing. We must be intentional about teaching kids the value and purpose of worship. More importantly, we must show them that worship isn’t just about singing, it’s about interacting with God.
